Fabricate the T-405 tank attach angle and pre drill with the rivet holes per DWG 16A.
Took me a few minutes to figure out how I was going to tackle this part. My band saw does not have the horse power to cut through this thickness of material with any percision.
I started be marking and center punching a series drill holes that would follow the contour of the cut. I then grabbed a #30 drill and began drilling holes, a guess about 12 in all. I then connected the holes with my band saw. After the rough outline was cut, I began removing the excess material with my bench grinder, followed by a coarse scotchbrite wheel. It really turned out nice. The whole process took only about 10 minutes. I will use this same technique for the other flanges as well.
Of course I will be polishing the entire piece to a satin finish...
I will take a few photos of process as I go next time.
