Continued to fit the Empennage fairing. Drilled the mounting holes, trimmed to final size. Fitted the horiznal stab and elevator tips, drilled mounting holes.
I am thinking... OH BOY!!! IDEA!!! As I get all the fairings in place, I am noticing that being able to see the elevator control horn connection point (Bolt) is basically impossible during a preflight inspection. As pictured in Photo #2, I may cut out the circle, install a mounting flange inside with nutplates, and install a clear circular plexiglass inspection panel. Then during each preflight I can easily look at the elevator control horn and connection points. or I could replace the entire aluminum inspection plate with plexiglass. I am also thinking of doing the same thing on the main wing inpection plate at the aileron bellcrank position.
2 hours later...
I had to give my idea a try... nothing to loose... Photo #3 is the idea above realized. It turned out exactly as I imagined. Perfect visual access to the elevator control arm and attachments.
