Brief Description:  Coax for COMM Antennas

Routed the coax and terminated the ends for the GTR225 COMM antenna.
Hooked everything up, and tested. A few friendly folks flying overhead were nice enough to confirm my radio 5 by 5...

One thing I noticed when I transmitted... My CHT / EGT on the Skyview would jump, and indicate eratically. CHT would jump about 100 degrees, and EGT would jump 200 degrees.
Nothing else running, and sitting in my shop ( Garage)

I bagan to trouble-shoot a bit... thinking I had a ground somewhere, I disconnected the antenna and TX... problem went away. I removed my antenna from my ICOM handheld and connected it directly to the back of the GTR225, thinking if I have an issue with a ground on the onboard antenna this should isolate it... But, even with the isolated handheld antenna the problem returned.
Which told me it was not a Aircraft issue. Scratching my head, time to do some research.

Jumped on the Dynon Forum... and the very first search returned a known issue with the EMS-220 engine module. A number of other folks had the same issue, and it requires that the EMS be sent back to Dynon for modification. A resistor needs to be replaced.

Emailed Dynon for RMA#... waiting to hear back.

Unfortunately, I have sent every piece of Dynon equipment (except ADHARS) back to Dynon for replacement or repair, for one reason or another. The product is amazing to see in action, but Dynon has struggled with quality over the past couple of years... Just my luck I bought my systems over the past couple of years... ech!!!
