Brief Description:  Lower Landing Gear Fairings and Wrap Sill Part 1

Today is a holidey so I get to work on the project again. Rob was going to go for a flight with his wife for breakfast but, as usual, the weather folks were majorly wrong and instead of clear weather we had clouds and snow all day! At any rate, Rob volunteered to come over.....of course I accepted.

I had the canopy rails pulled and the sill prepped for laying the vinyl wrap on top of it. Since Rob had done the same to his airplane, I felt I could get a little OJT while accomplishing the wrap. It really is straight forward and it really helped having four hands to work with the material. It laid down nice and after getting the left rail completed we went on to the right rail and got the material laid and while Rob was getting the details finished I attached the left rail. After Rob completed the finish work on the right side the rail was installed there also......the wrapping is done.

Next we moved on to the lower landing gear fairings. These fairings are definitely easier than the upper fairings but require a bit more of an athetic eye than a mechanical one. We compared the two fairings in order to make them close to the same profile. We started by working with circular arcs to get the front like we wanted it and then made a circle and cut it out of poster board to mark cut lines on the front.
