I arrived back from a trip yesterday so back to work on the plane. I am trying to get the main panel installed but even though I had the harness made I have to organize some wires. I also have to add some wires, one set to the intercom so I can remotely swap radios for transmission, I have this button on the stick, then I needed one wire from the Garmin 496 GPS to the IC210, this lets me push radio frequencies from the GPS to the radio.
I also had to settle on how the antenna cables will connect. The Garmin 430W is so close to the back of the panel I am going to have to get “L” adapters, I have one but will need to order 3 more. The transponder is short and is sandwiched between the 430W and the IC210 radios.
I then started tying the harness I have the wires in a loop from the radio stack anchored to the side of the radio stack and the back of the Dynon 180 mounting bracket. My thought is by removing the clamp at the back of the Dynon I will have enough slack to pull the panel forward.
