Brief Description:  Drilled Fwd Top Skin

Drilled all of the top holes in the forward top skin, you don’t drill the holes that mate up to the bottom side skins common with the longeron until the skin is taken off.
Next I fit the F8104 side skin rib that supports the top skin near the roll bar. This seemed pretty straight forward; you do have to watch that you have the edge distance on the flange of the F8104. The next step is to take the skin off and drill the side holes but my panel is due in tomorrow and I want to give it a test fit with everything clecoed in place.

I finally picked up the brass hardware needed to fasten the remote compass to its bracket. I used some rubber washer to help insulate it from vibration. This was not called for in the manual but I needed to adjust the angle of the compass a bit so I thought this would help. After it was installed the compass is within .4 degree of the instrument panel, I will have to take a final measurement after the aft skin is installed since that may change the angle a bit. One more day in August for building!
