Brief Description: Cut holes in panel for G-meter and air vent
Slow and steady wins the race right! At this rate I hope so. I did manage to get something done today. I set up various switch location using some paper cutouts from Aero-electric, when I finally had what I thought I would like I clecoed the panel in and sat in the plane and chair flew a bit. While I pondered if I like my final version I played around with some LED strip lights and a dimmer switch from Van’s. The two strips seem to have different minimum intensities for the same potentiometer setting. I guess I will put each strip on a separate dimmer or get a higher quality LED strip, although it is difficult to beat the $10 at Harbor Freight.
Since I know where the switches be located I could finally set to cutting the holes for the air vent and G-meter. I set up the fly cutter and did a practice cut since I have never used one of these before. It cuts a very nice hole without too much trouble. There is a photo of one of the cut in progress and a finished shot. I still need to secure the G-meter, I am trying to find a way to secure it so you don’t see any screw holes but I am not sure that is possible. It is nice to see more panel stuff getting done.
