Brief Description:  Finished remote compass bracket

I got an early start and did some stuff before going up to Seattle with Anita. I marked and drilled the holes for the side double plate for the remote compass bracket and then cleaned and primed the parts.

After returning from Seattle I riveted the doubler plates onto the sides of the remote compass bracket, this did the trick and it is nice and sturdy. I could have saved a few ounces if I had planned some lightening holes in the plate. I then marked the location for the bracket on the fuselage bulkhead. I planned it so I should not have any interference when riveting on the top skin, but I might just wait to install the bracket after the top is riveting in place. The plane bracket is a degree or two off at this point which I can adjust with some washers under the bracket. I was only trying to get it close, once the top skin is in place and the instrument panel installed I will get a better reading of the angular difference between the two.
