Brief Description:  Installed Fuel Pump and (L) vent line

I spent a lot of hours in the shop today but I feel like I did not get much done. I started off by messing with the model for the left fuel vent line. I took scrap tube and made all off the bends so they are close. I drilled the fuel pump bracket to the floor using the locator hole in the floor. I thought this makes the pump sit too far interior and contemplated moving the pump interior some, but in the end I stayed with the plans. I then cleaned primed the bracket after countersinking the rivet holes. While that dried I made the left fuel vent line using my template. It turned out nice.

My shipment came in from Van’s in 24 hours. I have found if I order in the morning many times they ship it out that afternoon, even though it is FEDEX ground it arrive at my house next morning. In fact the shipment goes from Portland past me in Olympia to a town north of me, to be put on a delivery truck to me. If only I could intercept the truck as it drove up I-5 in the middle of the night. You have to like overnight service for ground prices.

Well in my shipment was what I thought was a wiring kit from Van’s. Turns out it is a wiring harness already started, ring terminals installed and everything! Wow what time savings. I needed a new 45 degree elbow and that is what prompted the Van’s order, well of course I ordered the wrong style of elbow:(

I spent the rest of the afternoon trying to fabricate the supply line that runs from the fuel selector valve to the right fuel tanks. I am on try number 3 and still don’t have it right. The last one would have worked except I crushed part of the last bend making one of the last bends. The picture below says it all, I quite for the day and had a Guinness.
