Brief Description:  Half of right vent, installed fuel filter

I did not get into the shop until late afternoon but managed to get a few things done. I re-installed the false spars now that I am done with the gear weld mounts. Then I moved onto the right fuel vent line. I like the way it is turning out, I need to wait on some union fittings that should be here tomorrow. I am doing my vent line in two pieces just to make it easier to install. The long part goes from the connection to the tank to just above the floor (pictured). The second piece will be the part that goes out the bottom of the aircraft. Along with making the install easier, I can now replace the external bit if it gets bent or broken. I think I have used up 9 feet of the 12 feet of tube that came with the kit, thankfully I have some more on the way from Spruce. I made some practice cuts for the external part of the vent. I am also trying an idea to put in a screen for the vent. I am not sure if this will help or hurt. My idea is I don’t want bugs and debris clogging up the tube or getting all the way to the tank. I took some stainless hose screen sold at the local hardware store and I have used some JB weld to fix it in place.

I moved onto the fuel pump and filter. I drilled the filter bracket and after priming the bracket I riveted it in place and then installed the filter.
