Brief Description:  Installed fuel and brake bulkhead fittings

I did not get very far today. I wanted to start the fuel vent lines so I stared with the bulkhead fitting that attaches on the side of the fuselage. On my QB there is an interior doubler plate and then the skin. The interior hole is the size to accommodate the fitting the exterior hole is larger, my assumption was so that you could get the fitting just to clear the skin. As you can see from the photo there is a space between the skin and the interior plate. Well you the thickness of the interior plate is thinner than the tightest position you can get the fitting nut. I figured I was missing something so I called Van’s and over the phone the guy was not sure what I was talking about and asked me to send some pictures. I continued with the installation of the brake line fittings out the bottom of the plane through the gear mounts. I had to open up the holes on the bottom just a bit but they went in nicely.
