Brief Description:  Began fuel system section

The plans call for me to start the fuel system next. I read over the plans and realized that I needed to order the fuel pump and filter. It took a little research to make sure the pump Van’s sells will work for the engine I am considering (IO-360). As I tried to find the various parts I needed I discovered I did not have the brackets that hold the filter and pump to the floor, I also did not have any 3/8 fuel line tubing. When I called Van’s to make the order we determined that I was missing Bag 2391, they were not sure why I did not get this bag or the soft tubing used for fuel lines. My method of putting everything inventoried on one shelf and in clear plastic boxes for the small items sure helps. I can determine very quickly if I have an item and if I don’t I re-check the inventory in most cases I have been missing parts from the original order. So far there have been 3-4 items Van’s has had to send me due to them not being in the kit. On the flip I was sent parts that are already installed on the QB kit. My plan is to take them back to Van’s when I go to pick up my finish kit.

I have decided to paint the interior before I start on the fuel lines and pumps. I will have to take off the tail which I just installed but it should be able to stay in storage until final assembly. I need to take the tail off so that I can rotate the fuselage for cleaning and painting. I will have to decide on a color and order some paint.
