Brief Description:  Primed out side of tubes installed stick bushings

I kind of worked in two sessions today. The primer on the inside of the tubes was dry so I wanted to prime the outside today. I still needed to rivet on the rod ends to the F840 tube. I first shot some primer on the rod ends that will be inside. While I was at it I sprayed the MSP-42 rivets used to rivet on the rod ends. I installed the rod ends and riveted them in place.

Since I was going to have the primer mixed up I decided to prime the brackets for the aileron trim at the same time. I ran errands and did not get back to work until after dinner. I began the milling for the brass bushings for the control sticks. You have to mill them to length and also add a slight taper to the ends to match the F807 housing. After the brass bushing is milled to size you have to file a bit off the stick housing so that it is slightly smaller than the bushing. I stared with the rear stick and took a little too much off so the rear stick has a little more side to side play than I would have liked. My learning curve was steep and the front came out great.

The next step is to install the F839 push rod. It hangs in the main tube of the F807 and gets attached to the bottom of each stick. I sized it per the plans though the instructions tell you to also adjust it after it is attached to the sticks so that the two sticks are parallel. Well I did not need to adjust it at all the size between the bolt holes called out in the plans seemed to work perfectly. I must say I was pleased to see the sticks move in unison!
