Brief Description:  Deburr and Prime floor and console parts

Well this was a long day but not a lot to write because guess what it was deburr and prime day. I deburred a lot of parts yesterday but today I had to remove the plastic and deburr the holes in the floor panels and aft baggage panels. Like anything else that deals with paint the preparation takes about 3 times as long as the priming.

The primer went on really nice, I think I am getting the hang of it; of course the gun is dialed in as well. The temperature humidity was perfect, the primer dried to the touch in about 5 minutes which helped considering all of the parts I had to spray, my paint booth is kind of small. The one photo of the parts is just part of the batch. All of the floor panels are stacked up in another area.

After getting done priming and cleaning up I dimpled the forward, left and right floors. I find I like priming before dimpling because you don’t eat up the scotch brite pad and the primer is so hard it does not even leave a mark when you dimple. I was going to call it a day but hey all that work deburring and priming leads to the fun stuff “RIVETING” so I went ahead and removed the plastic from the top of the floor panels and I riveted on the stiffeners. The plans say not to rivet on the “C” stiffeners until later.

I left the tops of the floors bare because I don’t know what type of paint I will use on the interior and if it will be compatible with the primer I am using now. I figure the floors will get a lot of abuse and I want the paint to stick really well. I finally called it a day at nearly 10 pm. I really wanted to keep going but I know you will only make mistakes if you work while tired.
