Brief Description:  Front seat floor stiffeners and nut plates

Well it did not take long to find out what was up with my flap bearing blocks after being away from the project for a few days, funny how that works. I reviewed the plans again and discovered I measured for the holes from the wrong side of the block and that is why I am having edge distance issues with the blocks. I placed my order for new ones.

I moved onto the front seat floor. First I cut and deburred all floor stiffeners. After clecoing the front seat stiffeners, I drilled the hole for the nut plate that goes into the 805 bracket in the floor support and then drilled the front seat hinge to the floor. I machine C/S the holes for the nut plates in the F-805 bracket and the F-805F spacers that go under the front edge of the L/R floor panels. I riveted the nut plate onto the 805 bracket and I deviated from the plans and riveted the nut plates for the control mount to the floor bracket instead of riveting through the floor panel. My logic is if I have to remove the floors I only want to drill out the pop rivets and I don’t want to drill out rivets that hold on the nut plates. Many have installed nut plates and made the floors totally removable. I have talked with others and from my experience pop rivets come out easy enough that I will just go that route. It will not take much longer to drill our pop rivets than it would to unscrew the floors from the nut plates.
