OK to continue with the explanation of the bulkhead bulge. I was concerned enough at the time I noticed this I called Van’s. I explained what I was seeing and that I thought it was out of alignment by 1/8”. Ken assured me this was not a problem and would not be a structural issue. I felt like I may not have explained what I was seeing well enough so I shot off an email with some pictures and questions. I received a quick response the next day and all is well. Scott answered this time and agreed with Ken that I can just leave it, but it I wanted I could take a flush set with the pressure really low and a bucking bar and try to push it back in shape. I had already trimmed the floor panel to make it fit, but the plastic block that the flap assembly pivots in has to go up against this bulkhead, so getting it back into shape will help there, and then the block will hold thing aligned.
So now I have all of the aft floor panels drilled and the aft control mount drilled, but I have to go to work for 3 weeks, but then I have the bulk of August free to work on the plane. The flap actuation system looks to be next after the floors.
