Brief Description:  Finished Front Seat Back and started the rear seat

Wow long day today a total of 7 hours, and I loved it. OK I may not be fast but why not drag your feet when you enjoy yourself. On the face of things is does not seem like I did much to me though it does. I finished deburring the front seatback holes and then sprayed a light coat on primer on the surfaces that will get covered up when riveted. My logic is the seat backs will get painted with what every color I decide on at some future date so priming them now is a waste to time.

While the primer dried I gathered together all of the parts for the rear seat back. I must add that my parts storage system has worked out great, I had sorted the parts by area (rear, front, floors, consoles etc) so once I need the parts they are easy to find. I also cut out the 18 inch long hinge and cut off the 4 middle eyes. Then the hinge pin is cut in two and 90 degree bends made in them. The pins will work the same way as the wing flaps pins. They will insert from the center and once there they prevent the other side from working totally out. The front seat parts were dry by now so I primed the rear seat parts. I then started riveting, I completed the front seat back, and it looks nice propped up in the plane where it will eventually end up! I hung out just a little longer in the shop and managed to rivet the top of the rear seat back. Some of the earlier kits had a fiberglass piece for the upper seat back; I am not sure why it changed. The one thing I noted is there are lots of spaces in the curved portion of the upper seat back that I think will need to be sealed with something otherwise there will be a cool draft back there. All in all a productive day, I think I am in the groove.
