Well I was happy with the first draft on cardboard so I drew it up on some graph paper for reference and good measurements. I then transferred the pattern onto some .025 sheet aluminum. I used a fly cutter to cut the holes, the top hole is just larger than the 2” Scat tubing, I am considering riveting a flange here, but for now the tube will fit through the hole. The lower hole will take an eyeball vent that I still have to buy; it will be the same as the fresh air eyeball vents I already have.
After I had the cover all cut and bent I then used some angle stock to make a support structure for the cover to attach to. I also drilled the bulkhead that this will attach to for nut plate. After drilling for rivets and I was happy with the fit I cleaned and primed all the parts.
