Brief Description:  Rear Spar Assembly

I have the appointment tomorrow with the EAA Technical Counselor, so I decided I would just get started on the Horizontal Stab. I spent today milling the spar doublers to plans specification, which amounted to rounding and de-burring the parts so that it has a nice fit in the rear spar channel. I finished the part with some 400 sandpaper. It is one smooth mother, no tooling marks. Some light sanding marks which will help the primer adhere. This took a lot more time than I thought; I was amazed that it was 4 hours after I started. The rounding of the ends took some care, I measured for minimum rivet edge offset and there is not much material to remove before you hit that limit.

My appointment with the TC is at 2pm, so I will try to get more work done tomorrow on the HS before we meet.
