Brief Description:  Drilled out cracked rivet

The only real thing I accomplished today was to drill out the rivet with the crack in it. What I could find out about cracked rivets is that they can be left in if you can determine the crack will not propagate and make a problem. Well I did not feel qualified to make this call so out the rivet came. The old one came out without damage to the hole and the new one set just fine. I will be getting a Technical Counselor over soon, I want his opinion on the manufactured heads of these rivets and I think it is time for someone else to QC my work to make sure my eye for things is still on track. A few of the manufactured head did get fairly deformed while bucking, they look OK to me but I want my Boeing specialist to take a look at them.

The only other thing I accomplished today was to gather the aileron and other parts together. The aileron is built with the QB kit but I had to retrieve it from its storage location and then gather the brackets that get bolted and riveted onto the aileron. Aside from the above not much to report.
