Brief Description:  Tested instrument panel

It took a few hours but I finished the instrument panel install. I had one issue with some panel flood lights; I forgot to hook up the ground wire under the switch console. I even left an orange label to remind me when installing or removing the console there is a hard to see connector for these ground wires. It just shows me that I need to slow down and be a bit more methodical.

I pulled the plane out of the hangar to check the radios and let the GPS get a good lock onto some satellites. The last time I checked things it was in my garage and that was over a year ago. I was able to get a radio check with a few planes in the pattern and the jump airplane over the airport at 13,000’.

I spent some time setting up the auto pilot servo calibration as well as the trim indicators. Other than a few odds and ends I am officially down to hooking up engine sensor and pluming and finishing the cowling and baffles. I just might be flying in a month. I have 13 days off soon so hopefully I can make some good headway on the “to do” list.

Before I did all of the above I removed the front floor to hook up the antennas and inspect and vacuum out accumulated dirt, and I set the torque on the aileron push rod connections.

I also found the pipe fitting into the right brake had a small leak, so I drained the fluid and re-installed and tested things. I know what I did wrong the first time, I did not want sealer getting into the fluid and I think the sealer was just too high on the threads so it was only sealing the top couple threads.
