Brief Description:  Installed upper wing nut plates

Since I have to wait for the o-ring in the mail I can’t seal the tanks so I moved onto the nut plates that hold the wing root fairings in place. I had already drilled the holes for the rivets so it was a matter of removing the burrs and doing the dimple and countersinks as required. I did make one mistake, the aft most hole in the wing root call for a nut plate with an MS number. I looked in my parts bin and thought it was a corner (90 degree) style nut plate. I drilled for this but then discovered the nut plate did not have a countersink which it needs. When I Google the MS part number I discovered that it is a one lug nut plate not a corner. I had to drill a new hole to accommodate this nut plate which left me one hole to fill with a rivet. This will be something for the painter to cover over.

By the end of the day I had the upper wing nut plate done on both wings.
