Brief Description:  Test fit Exhaust

Well I did not get far today. I test fit the exhaust to get and idea on what I can do with the mixture cable. Hanging the exhaust did not take long but I looked and looked at the mixture cable. The problem with the -8A model is the support braces for the nose gear and the way the exhaust has to pass through the mount does not leave many options for the mixture connection. I finally determined that there was not enough room to make a bracket that would actuate the mixture from below; it has to work from above. I like this idea as well since this will keep the hot air from the exhaust moving away from the cable at least when I have cooling air while flying. Some have had heat make the cable ware out prematurely.

After conferring with Air Flow Performance I decided to send the unit back to have the mixture arm movement reversed, this will allow actuation from the top side of the pivot point. I have to fly a couple trips for the next couple weeks so this will allow time for the unit to be returned before I get back.
