Brief Description:  2. Throttle cable anchor

With the engine mounted I started on the control linkages. One of the pitfalls of not using the Van’s set up is there is more work. For the Air Flow Performance fuel injection I have to make my own brackets for the control cables. They give you a good starting point with a nice piece of anodized angle aluminum but you still have to fabricate the anchor point. Had I gone with the stock fuel injection I would have spent 5 minutes bolting on the anchor bracket Van’s supplies, oh well. The supplied bracket for the mixture side will not work at all due to interference with the engine mount structure on the nose gear model of the RV-8; the tail dragger guys don’t have this issue.

By the end of the day I had the throttle bracket worked out; in the picture it is clamped in place. I had to drill new mounting holes for the supplied piece of angle to the base to move the thing in due to the engine mount braces. Why didn’t I go tail dragger?

Mixture side tomorrow!
