The last item to go on the engine before install is the prop governor, it came back with no problems from American Propeller, apparently I did not mess anything up when I mistakenly removed the back. This went fast and IAW the Lycoming manual the torque here was set to 204 in lbs.
I decided to test fit the control cable bearing, I read you can’t get the AN3-11 bolt in with the head forward, some are reversing the bolt but I did not like the way that was going to work out. I know one guy carefully pulled the actuating are off the spindle, which the directions say not to go, and installed the bearing bolt that way with not problems. I was headed down that row when I thought of an idea. I took the control cable bracket off and by rotating the arm to vertical there is enough clearance to get the bolt and other hardware installed! I re-installed the bracket and now I am good to go. The bearing will stay attached it will be a simple matter of spinning the cable to thread it into the fixed bearing. Tomorrow hopefully I will have an engine hung on the plane.
