Brief Description:  Finding where things go.

Well I am doing my usual: slow and methodical before a few busy days of real work. Today I kept the engine on the hoist up to a near mounted position to look at how things should hook up and how they might interfere. I have decided on locations for the manifold that holds the oil and fuel pressure sensors. I also decided on a rough position for the Dynon manifold pressure sensor, The Dynon sensor and each P-Mag all require manifold pressure lines.

Next I hooked up the 55” cable to the prop lever on the throttle quadrant. This length works great for the prop but I test fit this for the throttle and mixture. It would seem that the 60” will work fine for the throttle based on the 55” I tested with being too short. But the mixture seems too long at 55” so I plan to ask around to see if other made this work. It looks like the 55” can be made to work but there will be a big curve in the cable. The next standard size Van’s make is 48” and I think that would be too short.

I did not have a lot of hands on building (connecting things) but build progress none the less. I think I am ready to mount these final items on the firewall and hang the engine. I still have to wait for the prop governor to come back, I called and it was not broken and they will return it this week.
