Removed the carb and looked over the idle circuit passages. All are clear. Noticed the 2 piece venturi was installed out of position and I think there was a vaccum leak at that location. Ordered new gasket and reposistioned the venturi so all tabs are at the same height .025" above the gasket surface.
I can clearly see the gasket did not get compressed in this area. The float chamber is flat on both sides so torquing up slowly will be very important.
