-Did more prep work this morning with taping and sanding and such. -Mixed up a dry slurry of micro with black dye - looks very cool by the way and makes for a better appearance when viewing the backside of your handy work from the cockpit. -Used tongue depressors to put it on being careful not to cram it into the gaps between the windsheld and the skin or it would ooze out on the inside. I did remove a little bubble of it that came through, but otherwise it's pretty sanitary. I still plan to run a bead of black cauking on the inside to make it more uniform - we'll see] -Once the micro got hard I started sanding - it's very easy to sand if it doesn't set up for 24hrs. I was able to sand it after about 5 hrs. -Pretty happy with the results, but I still need to mix up another small batch to fill in some low spots around the nose of the windshield, etc.
The black slurry is really cool looking!
80 grit wrapped around a 1/2 OD piece of PVC tubing worked great!
