Brief Description: Bending tabs on left elevator/riveting with Rick!
Up at 5am and Rick Blaes came over (I know, he's crazy!) to help out. I bent the infamous tabs on the left elevator that closes out the trim tab area. Worked out great so either I'm not picky enough or I got lucky. Rick thought it looked great. We both worked on riveting the doublers where the rod ends go to attach the elevator to the horizontal stabilizer. Rick riveted the root rib to the spar and I riveted the tip ribs together. Then we both worked on the elevator horn, riveting it onto the spar. Next step is to work on the skins - tomorrow. I learned alot of great tips and techniques from Rick, as always! He built a hotrod RV-4 with a 180hp Lyc with a c/s prop - it rips! I'm working on getting him to build something new, we'll see but I appreciate his help and I really look forward to have guidance when I start on the wings.
Elevator trim tab close out tabs bent into position. Will be blind riveted later in the process.
