Brief Description: Elevator / Horizontal Stab Tips #2
Now that the tips have been fitting and drilled it's time to prep them for install. -Fabricated the strips that will serve to reinforce the nutplates, in the case of the HS tip, and the rivets for the elevator tip. -Match drilled the strips to the HS and elevator tips -Countersunk the tips -Removed the reinforcement strips and deburred -Preppred and primed the strips -Drilled the HS tips for #8 screws (#8s are overkill, but I hear #6 screws break real easy) -Deburred the holes in the HS and elevator skins for the tips -Dimpled the holes in the HS and elevator skins
