Plans says to flute the top cover to make it lay flat. But when placed in FG bottom bowl, it's way too narrow in front to conform with necessary cowl opening. Note how the FG piece swoops upward also. Trimmed top cover to same length as FG bowl, then bolted top cover to FI induction body. Installed bottom cowl to establish location of final trim point and correct left-right alignment toward cowl opening. Then cut top plate and FG bowl to same length. That solved 1/2 of the front opening issue.
