Brief Description: Install Left Flap & Safety Wire Piano Hinges
Installing the flaps on the wing was fairly easy compared to installing the ailerons. The flaps just use piano hinges rather than the brackets on the ailerons with all the corresponding bolts, spacers, washers, etc to fumble around with. All that was involved for the flaps was sliding the two piano hinges in from the center of the flap and safety wiring the bent ends to the flap brace in the wing. I drilled two small 1/16" holes on either side of each pin and ran the safety wire through the holes and around the pins and twisted the ends together.
I did have to trim the pins just a bit on both the outboard-most and inboard-most ends to prevent the ends from interfering with the aileron on the outboard end and the fuselage on the inboard end.
