Brief Description: Fabricate Mounting Spacer for Part 6
Part 6, the aft left center baffle does not sit flush against the engine block where the single mounting bolt is to be installed. The plans call for making a finger spacer to fill this gap. Easier said than done. This is a rather large gap and it's tapered,,,the top area having more of a gap than the lower area.
I ended up making a rectangular spacer from a thick piece of left over aluminum stock that I had sitting around. I used the bandsaw to cut the taper and then polished all of the edges on the scotchbrite wheel. The spacer was then drilled to part 6 and countersunk for flush rivets. Both parts were deburred, cleaned, and then alodined.
