Brief Description:  Oil Cooler Mounted Too High - Need to Redo

The Van's baffle cookbook says to mount the oil cooler as high as possible on the baffle so the airflow to it won't be blocked by the cylinders, so that's what I did. Then a few steps later it says to trim the top edges of the baffles to the contour of the top cowl. Definitely backwards. I would like to blame this all on Van's but I should have used some common sense here and did the trimming first. I guess I thought trimming meant 1/8" here and 1/4" there,,,not one to two inches all the way around. Oh well, I'll have to reorder all of the parts for the aft left corner, trim the new baffles to match the profile of these,,,and THEN mount the oil cooler as high as possible for best airflow but low enough to provide enough clearance against the top cowl.

Damn - corner of oil cooler is too high and will interfere with the top cowl - time for new parts
