Brief Description:  Fit and Drill Oil Cooler to Baffles

I jumped back into working on the baffles again today.

First I trimmed and fit the left side aft baffle (part 4) to the engine and then did the same with the back left baffle (part 5). The corners were then clecoed together while both baffle parts were on the engine and then the assembly was removed from the engine.

The plans indicate that the oil cooler should be mounted as high as possible on the back baffle in order to provide as much cooling air above the cylinder fins. Consequently I positioned and clamped the oil cooler reinforment plate and the oil cooler itself flush with the upper left corner. The six mounting holes in the oil cooler were then used to match-drill the baffle parts.
