Brief Description: Drill Upper Cowl to Firewall Hinges
My final task for today was to finish drilling the upper cowl to the firewall hinges. In this case I started at the top center and worked my way out and down. The pattern for the holes was matched to the corresponding pattern on the fuselage side of the hinges like was done on the lower cowl. The top and bottom cowls are now fully drilled and clecoed to the firewall hinges all the way around!
The fit is perfect for the lower cowl. No gap between the cowl and the fuselage. I will actually need to sand a bit of a gap to allow for paint and flexing. The upper cowl fits nice along the top but I have an 1/8" gap on both of the short angled sides. I'm not sure how I'll deal with this yet either. All and all though, the fit is very good and I'm happy with the results.
