Brief Description: Connect Tail Strobe Wire to Whelen Power Supply
The next thing I worked on was crimping the three Molex pins onto the shield 3-conductor 18awg wire that runs out to the tail strobe. I ended up wasting a couple of these pins by just grabbing 3 random pins from the Whelen installation kit and crimping them onto the wires. When I went to insert the pins into the connector I realized when I couldn't slide a couple of them in that I had crimped a couple of female pins onto the wires when they all needed to be male. I just assumed all of the pins in the bag were the same. Live an learn. Of course Whelen only ships the exact number of pins needed to wire the tail and wing stobes so I'm short a couple of female pins that will eventually be needed at the stobe ends of these wires. Oh well I'll have to add these to my shopping list. Once I had all of the correct pins crimped onto the wires going out to the tail strobe I snapped these into the connector and then plugged the connector into the power supply.
