Brief Description:  Rivet Support Angles for Radio Stack to Panel

I fabricated a third set of support angles and used set two as the negatives so to speak in printing or transferring the rivet holes to the correct face of the third set of angles.Set two would work fine if the angles were riveted to the front of the panel! But they aren't, hence the need for set three. So,,,bottom line,,,Set one was discarded since they were drilled to the panel to far apart from each other and left a gap between them and the trays.Set two could only be drilled if they were clamped to the front of the panel, which had the holes in the reverse image of what they needed to be if they were clamped to the back of the panel. So,,,this set was discarded once the holes were transferred to the third and final set.The third time was the charm! No gap on the left side. 1/8" gap on the right side that is filled from behind with the right support angle, which of course is recessed by the width of the panel material itself. I doubt anyone would ever notice but I'll always know it is there. Maybe I'll fill this sometime, maybe not,,,depends on whether it continues to bother me or if anyone notices.Anyway, once the final set of angles were drilled, I cleaned them with acetone along with the back of the panel. I then used the alodine pen for corrosion protection and then riveted the angles to the panel. The tray's fit great now! Once the radios are in with their bezel's, I seriously doubt anyone will be able to see the gap on the left at all.I really am pleased how this turned out, even if it did take me a little extra time for the three tries.
