Brief Description:  Remove Tape from Targa Strip; Open Canopy

Well, this morning it was time to unwrap all of my presents starting with the canopy targa strip. The duct tape really did a nice job smoothing out the edges of the fiberglass. The wax paper on the rear window also worked out very well. It was very easy opening the canopy and then peeling the wax paper from the fiberglass. Everything was looking great until I saw the right side. There is a large triangular area that didn't bond to the plexiglass on the bottom aft edge.Unfortunately, what I don't know is whether the fiberglass wasn't held down tight enough against the plexiglass while it was curing or whether I pulled this area away from the plexiglass in opening the canopy. I hope it's the former. I need to know that there is a secure bond between the plexiglass and fiberglass since I fiberglassed over all of the screws. I had thought about taking out every other screw, adding 3 layers of fiberglass, then drilling and countersinking the fiberglass and adding the screws back and then adding the 4th layer of fiberglass to cover up all the screws. Matt convinced me that this was overkill and not necessary. I hope that's truly the case. Matt thinks we simply didn't have enough pressure on the bottom edges with the roll of paper towels under the tie down straps and that the pressure was all in the front. I trust that he is right. Now, how to fix this...
