Brief Description:  Mask and Tape for Targa Strip

Matt came down this weekend to pickup his Garmin 430 that was shipped to me from his local avionics shop to avoid having to pay sales tax. While he was here he helped me create a fiberglass targa strip for the canopy. We placed wax paper over the aft window to prevent the fiberglass from sticking along the back. We didn't want to use clear tape here since the fiberglass does stick slightly to the tape and it would have been virtually impossible to open the canopy. We needed something that would lift right off the aft window and that we could peel off the fiberglass on tip up portion of the canopy.Next we taped off the forward line using electrical tape and covered the tip up portion of the canopy with plastic. Then we scratched up the plexiglass using #80 grit sandpaper to get a good bond with the fiberglass. Then we vacuumed everything to clean the plexiglass. Acetone wasn't used since it would harm the plexiglass.
