Brief Description:  Flox Front Edge of Canopy and Top Skin

Once the plexiglass and aluminum were sanded we vacuumed everything and acetoned the aluminum. Then we mixed up my 2nd batch of flox. 4 parts Jeffco resin to 1 part hardener to several small handfuls of floxed cotton fibers. We made up a large batch and then split it between the two of us. Again, it was a thick, pink paste. We each started on one side of the canopyand buttered up the transition area between the plexiglass and aluminum with a relatively thick fillet using large popsicle sticks. Eventually we met up in the middle. Flox doesn't spread out very nice, it tends to bunch up if you play with it too much. We made sure we filled the gap completely and smoothed things out as much as possible. As a final step we matted some peel ply over the flox to help smooth things out a little more and to limit the amount of sanding we will have to do once this stuff dries. The canopy looks much nicer already!
