Brief Description:  Sand Micro on Fairing; Rage Canopy

I was hoping to lightly sand the micro that I used to fill in the pinholes on the canopy frame today and then prime it but I hit a hurdle. If micro is applied in very thin coats, it seems the resin never cures. For some reason the micro that I applied yesterday with a razor blade left a very tacky layer that I couldn't sand. The sandpaper would gum up and the tacky resin would just role up. I ended up calling Matt to see what I should do. He said to warm it up with a heat gun or space heater. I went the space heater route since the canopy is in the paint booth and I didn't feel too comfortable adding localized heat via a heat gun. Too risky for me. A few hours with the space heater was enough to allow me to sand the tacky layer off. There were still a few low spots on the targa strip and on the two front corners so I decided to mix up some Evercoat Rage filler and spread a thin layer over these areas. I swear the stuff was dry within 5 minutes. I'll sand the blue filler tomorrow.
