Brief Description:  Measure/Drill Pilot Holes in Frame for Plexiglass

My final task for today was to measure and drill #40 pilot holes in the rollbar and canopy frame channels, and then small 1/16" pilot holes in the aft top skin. These will eventually be enlarged and used to secure the plexiglass to the canopy frame and fuselage. The plans called for 2-1/2" spacing along the rollbar / canopy frame but this would have hit several of the rollbar rivets. I could go with 1-1/2" spacing or 3" spacing. I wasn't sure if either would be OK since 1-1/2" spacing may lead to cracks in the plexiglass and 3" spacing may not be structurally sound. I decided to run this one by Van's. They said the 3" spacing would be fine so that's what I ended up using.
