Brief Description:  Drill Left Fuselage Forward Components

I started off today drilling the auxillary longeron to the side skin beginning at the F704 bulkhead and working forward. I did not drill the longeron to the steel corner bracket just yet though. First I had to refabricate the F-684 gusset that I had reordered from Van's. This time I did not pre-drill the holes according to the plans. Instead I made the small cutout in the corner and I bent the edges iteratively until it rested flush along both the firewall angle and the steel corner bracket. Once the gusset was fabricated and fit nicely, I clamped it in place and started drilling. The first thing to get drilled was the four bolt holes in the lower longeron to the steel corner bracket. Then I drilled through the prepunched holes in the side skin to join the side skin to the auxillary longeron to the steel bracket and finally to the gusset. Once this was done, I peeled the side skin back and drilled the gusset to the firewall reinforcement angle. Next, I clecoed the bottom skin on and drilled the lower longeron using the prepunched holes in the bottom skin as a guide.
