Brief Description: Center Section: Modify Ribs for Steps
I had a tough time understanding how to orient the side steps in order to make the cutout's in the flanges of the corner ribs. It really wasn't as difficult as I made it out to be. I ended up having 2 different references when I thought I didn't have any. The plans that came with the steps have the dimensions provided. This gave one reference. The second reference was obtained by using a square in the 1 1/2" hole that I had drilled in the first inboard baggage rib. The width of the blade on the square was exactly 1 1/2" and I was able to orient the other end to be flush with the side skin. I then traced where the cutout's needed to be on the flanges of the corner ribs. I made the cutout's with the dremel tool and polished them up on the scotchbrite wheel. The trial fit for each step came out great.
