Brief Description:  F705 Bulkhead: Drill Seat Belt Brackets

The instructions indicate that one side of each of the 4 seat belt brackets is pre-drilled and could be clecoed to the bottom of the F705 bulkhead. The other side could then be clamped with an 1/8" spacer to it in order to properly locate it on the bottom of the bulkhead. This bracket could then be drilled using the pre-drilled holes in the F705 bulkhead bottom channel and bar as a guide. Sounds like a plan. The only problem was that none of the seat belt brackets were pre-drilled. I still took the same approach. I measured and drilled one side of each bracket and then clecoed these to the bottom of the bulkhead. Then I clamped the other sides of the brackets to the bar and the drilled/clecoed brackets and drilled them to the bulkhead. This worked out fine except for the very last bracket. It drifted while I was drilling it. I had everything clamped tightly but I guess not tight enough. The powder coated brackets are very slippery. This final bracket doesn't line up properly with it's mate so I decide to order another one from Van's and try again. It was only $2 something...
