Brief Description:  Drill BNC & Vent Fittings; Rivet Sender

I measured and drilled the holes for the BNC connector and the fuel vent fitting on the inboard rib. The next thing I tackled was the capacative sender plates. I should have read the instructions regarding the size of the 3 holes to drill in the #2 and #6 ribs to secure the plates. I drilled them to #19 but the plans called for enlarging these holes to 1/4". This was easy to do but I didn't want to do this now that the ribs are prosealed and riveted in place because I didn't want to get filings on the inside of the tank. Enlarging the holes with a unibit was easy enough to do but vaccuming the filings didn't work out so well. There are filings stuck to the still tacky proseal. I will need to remove these with some tweasers before sealing up the tank. The good news was that I could use the sender plates that I had countersunk on the wrong side when I was doing the left tank. Since the right tank is a mirror image of the left tank, this worked out fine. The bad news was that I ordered 2 new plates just in case I was wrong. Oh well, they were only 3 bucks a piece. When I was trial fitting the two plates to the ribs I discovered I was missing 2 of the 48 UMHW spacers that were supposed to be in the capacative sender kit. Bummer. I need these by next weekend since I will be heading up to NY then to get Matt and Ben's help sealing up the tank. I can't seal everything up until I get these special spacers. I tried ordering them from Van's online site but these part numbers are not listed. I sent Van's an email requesting them to FedEx them to me on Monday. Hopefully I will have them before next weekend.
