Brief Description: Remove Tank; Drill Center Z-Brackets
Removing most of the fuel tank and leaving just the end ribs and baffle works out great for drilling the center z-brackets. The prepunched holes in the baffle were used as a guide. This entire method ensures that the z-brackets are drilled in such a manner as to have the tank line up perfectly to the spar and leading edge. Once the center z-brackets were drilled (using a stop on the drill bit), the baffle and end ribs were removed. Then the z-brackets themselves were removed from the spar. Everything is now ready for the leading edge to be debured, dimpled, primed and riveted together. After that it will be proseal time again. Yippeee.
