Brief Description: Rivet Left Main Ribs to Rear Spar
I thought riveting on the rear spar was going to be easy. I used the pneumatic squeezer. However, after I had set all of the rivets, I went back and closely examined all of the rivets. There were several that had split up the middle. I drilled these out and discovered the problem. The rivets that I was using were too long. So much for trusting the plans. I need to remember to double check all of the rivet lengths with the rivet gauge. When I used the slightly shorter rivets, no splits...The next step will be to mount this structure into the wing jig.
