Brief Description:  Riveted Rear Spar

One final note on the dimpling of the skins. I found it much easier to dimple all around the edges using the hand squeezers and then to have a helper (David) hold the skins apart while I hammered away on the Avery C Frame dimpling tool. The inner most hole closest to the fold on each side could not be done with the C Frame since we could not unfold the skins enough. I ended up using the pop-rivet dimpling tool. This worked great! Once the skins were dimpled, they were set aside in order to begin riveting the rear spar together. I used the pneumatic squeezer to set the AN470 AD4-6 rivets. This did a nice job. There were a couple of holes that I couldn't get rivets into without first running a #30 drill through the holes again because of the primer. Also, I think the 4-6 rivets are a little too short. I tried the 4-7 but these were definitely too long. I stuck with the 4-6's that the plans called for.
